if we come under extended list then what does that mean

Extended list refers to the the students who are selected for the admission to the other colleges such as IIST, but are not eligible for admission into the IITs. Its based on your JEE score.

If you will be in the range of their cutt off and if you have filled the form for admission into these institutes then definitely you can get a seat. Even if your rank is not very good but qualifying for eml is the first step to get into IIST and IISER etc. Because those who have qualified for IITJEE EML will be counted for admission into IIST and IISER etc.

An extended merit list, category-wise, has also been drawn to facilitate admissions to other Govt. of India Institutions and the same has been displayed on websites. Students on this list may be counselled by the Indian Institute of Space-Science Technology (IIST), Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) and Indian Institute of Maritime Studies (formerly DG Shipping).
