Some people are saying that once i deposit the advance amount after 1st round of counselling, i will be deemded to have allotted a seat and I will not be eligible to appear in IITJEE for the 2nd attempt, in spite of the fact that I have not formally taken admission in an IIT.Is it true ? Pl clarify.

No there is nothing like that. You have a two attempts for IIT.
