All the branches are best as it all depends on person to person. The best branch is the one for which you are interested. Each branch in engineering demands certain traits. You have to first understand your own liking, capabilities and limitations and check whether the branch you want suits you or not. So just clear your mind and think of what u love best.
As per latest trends :
CSE>EEE=ECE>Mech>Production engg..And I should say remaining all are almost same.It just depends on candidate's capability.
Mech and EEE are totally different branches and have diff scope.
