dear shashank 
there are many colleges , like iisc , iiser , NISER for going into research field . 
iisc selects based on jee advanced scores in case there will be any vacancy . 
iiser selects based on KVPY / jee advanced merit list and board percentage . 
if u have over the cutoff board percentage , u need to attend the entrance test ,but kvpy qualified student have direct entry . 
and NISER conducts entrance test called as NEST , 
iiser bhopal is best among all ,

 if you want to do research than IISC BANGLORE, IISER, BITS PILANI , IITS, NITS  these will be the best ones … 
even i advise that if you have true potential in research than you can be funded by government of india , irrespective of your college ,  hope this will clear 
good luck...
