Why is it that more the electronegativity difference between 2 atoms greater is the bond strength?

Approved Tutor Answer8 Years agoIf the difference between electronegativity is more then there will be less competition between elements of molecule to take the electron. And usually the one with incomplete octet take are electronegative. Eg Hcl
