To the question 3,
If focus/vertex and directrix is given, then only can proceed to work with such parabola.

Implement the logic that a parabola is the locus of points which are equidistant from the focus and the directrix[i.e. distance between point P(x,y) lying on the curve is at distance from the focus equal to the length of the perpndicular distance of the P to the directix.]

Otherwise, only standard form of parabola (or with little variation like shifting of Origin)can be used to determine the focus , directrix, length of latus rectum., etc.
