Our school basketball team goes for a tournament. The team has to win the first knock out match to reach the Group stage. In the group stage they face three teams. To reach the finals they are to win against at least two of these teams. The probability of winning the league match is 5 3 and the probabilities of winning against the three teams in group stage 1 3 , 5 2 and 3 4 respectively. Find the probability of our team reaching the finals.

To reach the finals, they need to qualify the 2 levels, the league match ANDthe group stage matches.

The probability of winning the league match is 3/5 and the probablity of winning atleast 2 out of 3 group stage matches against 3 teams can have 4 cases:

Win against A, B lost against C
or
Win against B, C lost against A
or
Win against C, A lost against B
or
Win against A,B C

Use the analogy of AND/OR with * to get the final answer.
