Let, M = Indian men, W=Indian women, D = Indian doctors.

According to question, N(M u D)= 24, N(M) = 23, N(W)= 29, N(D)= 4.

As per the set rule, N(M u D) = N(M) + N(D) – N(Mn D). This implies, N(MnD) = 3.

Since three men are doctors, therefore, the number of women doctors=4-3 =1.
