dear friend you should keep in mind that the weightage in iit is 60:40 with respect to baoard.so you should prepare for board,therefore to avois from getting such low marks one has to take boards exam seriously and cumulative preparattion of both iit and board simultaneously.
do one thing fro board exam prepare ncert nicely and for iit use best reference book.go chapter by chapter like this.i think there will be no problem
