i will be going in class 10 is this a right time for preparation of iit

As you said you will be passing out 9th standard and will be going to 10th standard. I think, this is the time you should focus more on your 10th board rather than thinking about IIT as the 10th and 12th are the two major stages of a student's life. Some coaching institutes provides an introductory course of 2-3 months for IIT for 10th pass students, if you want you can join that after your 10th board.
