In this question, we have to find strain energy..
So first note down the formula of Elastic energy in terms of strain.
To calculate strain (as it is a function of relative change in length), consider a small length element at some height (because stress due to hanging weight is varying w.r.t. length of the string).
Proceed in this way and calculate the answer...........
