What are her board marks ? My advice would be based on her determination. If she thinks she can prepare for an year an get good JEE results next then she should do that.
As you know , her marks won’t help her in getting a rank in CML for any NIT or IIT.

If she is confident of doing it the coming year I would suggest for that. Also she should look into BITSAT exams.
