Is it a good idea to prepare notes on chemistry. Did the IITans prepare notes during preparation of JEE?

it is actually very important to make notes in chemistry especially for inorganic chem...so that u dont have to open huge books all the time you want to revise tham...make a consolidated notes that have all formulae and important tips in handy to refer before exams.
