# what is this method ??how to plot these curves ??what r the rules to plot these..............what r the advantages of these curves ??these are somewhat like this -where  a,b,c  are the roots of the equ.

Dear mohit,

For solving the wavy curve method first bring the inequality in the simpler form by breakin it into roots...for example
(x-2)(x-3)>0
then plot it's roots on the number line and start from the right hand side. On the rightmost side start from + and the keep on changing the sign after evey root.For example in the above case you'll plot the two roots 2 and three and then start from the region between 3-infinity and label it as + after that label the region between 2 and 3 as - and then again the region between
-infinity to 2 as positive. Now as the inequality is of the form greter than look for the positive regions that is -infinity-2 union 3-infinity. Nothing will be included as the inequality sign is > and not >=. In cse any powers are present on the two roots then in case of even powers ONLY the sign would not change on either side of that root. Moreover if any root is present in the denominator then that root will never be included in your answer.

ths is basically used for solving inequalities....factorise the given equation..and equate each factor with 0..now u will get some values of x.plot these values on a number line....now take the right side of the greatest value as +ve and then see the degree of the rightmost factor if it is even then its sign will not chnge and if it is odd its sign will change ..do ths until u reach the least factor on the number line from right to left..now see in the problem whethr it is given greater or less thn 0..accordingly find the intervals by observing ur number line..u will get the req solution..remember it is the best tecnique to solve inequalities.....
