Besically , what u need to understand is that if any perticular compound cannot be represented by the lewis dot structure , in that case more than 1 lewis dot structure will represent that compound , and from that 1 of the structure will be their which properties are simmilar to that of the original compound .
Then . that structure we call as resonance , as it represent the properties of molecule as a whole and intermediate of the lewis dot structure .
MORE THE RESONANCE , MORE WILL BE THE STABILITY OF THE COMPOUND , DUE TO RESONANCE ENERGY .
AND OCTECT RULE – IF ANY COMPOUND WILL FULFILL ITS OCTECT RULE , THEN THAT WILL BE MORE STABLE THAN THOSE WHICH DONOT .
BONDS – THE HIGHER THE NO OF BONDS , THE MORE WILL BE THE STABILITY OF COMPOUND .
FOR THAT REASON , AS THE BOND ORDER INCREASE , THEN THE STABILITY WILL INCREASE .
hope it clears your doubt
all the best ..
