Potential difference apllied across a resistor is altered so that heat produced per second increase by a factor of 9. By what factor poetential difference change. Pleasee tellMe what to di when asked by what increase occur. I often got puzzled.

It means if original is x quantity

then increased by 9 times is
9 * x = 9x
