I am not able to write the answer properly in this software. However, please try to understand.
sinx + cosx = \sqrt{2} sin(x + pi/4)
\lim_{x\rightarrow 5\pi /4} [\sqrt{2} sin(x + pi/4) ]  
Both LHL and RHL = – 2 ( because sin(x + pi/4) value will be -1 at 5pi/4, and muliplication by \sqrt{2} will make the value -\sqrt{2}. Greatest integer value for – \sqrt{2} will be -2.
Hence, answer has to be – 2.
