Dear Student,
1/(ax+b)(cx+d) = A/(ax+b) + B/(cx+d) = (A(cx+d) + B(ax+b))/(ax+b)(cx+d).
A(cx+d) + B(ax+b) = cAx + aBx + dA + bB = 1.
cA + aB = 0, dA + bB = 1.
Solving these, we get A = a/(ad – bc) and B = -c/(ad – bc)
