domain is all x for which function is defined. so clearly it is defined for all real x except when the denominator x+1=0
or x= – 1, so DOMAIN is x belongs to R – {–1}
also, write f(x)=1 – 1/(x+1)
we know that 1/(x+1) can attain all real values except for zero. so 1 – 1/(x+1) can attain all values except 1-0=1
