what is the difference in subject between it and cse. can we choose it branch and then ultimately become equal to cse students in terms of all the subjects and understanding of the computer

both these streams are related with computer we all know it, but still there is a lot of difference between them. after doing engineering in it you can become a technology implementer and practicioner but after doing cse you can become a technology developer and designer

There is hardly a difference in both the branches. Basically , IT is derived from CSE branch. There is a little difference of placement in both branches. At the end of the day , cse and it engineers are coders. Moreover, in IPU almost all subjects are same in both branches. There is wide scope in both branches if and only if you are master of your branch. Still there may be a slight diference:

IT is more "software oriented" than CSE which is a mixture of both software+hardware oriented subjects.

Reality:

Both streams cover almost the same subjects, but in alternate semesters.

There will be slight difference in the syllabus content (just minor changes in the topics)

For instance:

Sream: CSE IT

Subject:(Sem1) XYZ ABC

Subject:(Sem2) ABE XYY

If CSE has XYZ subject in sem1, IT would have it in sem2(focusing more over some sections in the syllabus) resulting in minor changes.
