If a student is too much focused on boards and expect to clear JEE ignoring it's preparation to some extent is this correct way for future preparation?

sure , with board level prep , you can clear the cutoff for jee mains , but you cannot clear jee advanced . 
so, give 2 hrs per day for solving jee level ques and solve max numericals on chapterwise on jee level . 
but for advanced prep is required . 
and you can clear mains with board level prep .
