engi design is more relevant but not completely. civil has no relation. if you r keen on iitm, then go for engi des as it gives more free time to pursue robotics in your free time. civ may be extremely boring for you, so be careful. check for courses related to robotics in other colleges also like BITS/IITBHU/IIITH/NITT/W/K/IITR/IITGUW. ALL THE BEST
