Preparatory course ensures probable entry in an IIT but getting the desired branch may or may not be possible, so just hope for the best and be prepared if you have to chnage the plan and to join somewhere else, because there are numerous hi-tech institutions which guarantee assured placements in esteemed institutions based on the quality education they provide.
