Grade 12Branch Ranking of IIT

i have appeared in JEE advanced 2013 and expecting a rank within 1200.please give me some tips on how to select a suitable branch for myself and some basis on which i can assess my interests.

If you like logic and reasonsing then opt for CS BHU > CS Guwahati ( BHU is consistently ranked higher than Guwahati by India Toda, Outlook and Data quest ranking and due to missing ''i'' it was closing lower in last few years ) Both are good option though.

If you are interested in gadgets and want to know how they work then opt for EC Roorkee > EC BHU > EC Guwahati

You don''t need programing experience to take CS and I will suggest taking CS for bright future. Most EC guys try for software jobs so why not take the best option if you are ok with all branches.
