Bentham and hooker classified the plant kingdom into 2 division into cryptogamia (non flowering plants) and phanerogamia(flowering plants) Phanerogamia further divided into dicotyledonae ,gymnospermae, and monocotyledonae , I this natural system all characters are considered and plants are arranged according to various levels of their classification.
