Dear student,

There are four stages in the cell cycle. The interphase is comprised of G1, S and G2 phase. The M phase is considered as the shortest phase in the cell cycle. About 80% of the time is required in the interphase and only 20% in the M-phase. In the M-phase, the shortest phase is anaphase which takes about 0.8% of the cell cycle.

Thus, the correct answer is option D.
