Nastic movements in plants are non directional movements where the response to stimulus is dependant on the structure of the responsive organ. The direction of stimulus does not govern th response. Stimulus maybe light, temperature, humidity etc. The frequency of response increases with increase in stimulus. Example: photonasty-opening and closing of flowers due to light; hydronasty- response due to water.
