what is meant by herbarium?

herbarium is a store house /repository for future use of botanical plants.In this dead leaves of the plants are dried then pressed and finally preserved on the sheets.Also all the information lyk name,scientific name,discoveror,place of discovery,etc are written on the sheet for future use...

Herbarium is actually a store house of plant specimens which are collected ,then they are dried, presssed and preserved on sheets. These sheets also contain  a label giving information about date and place of collecton, family, collectors name,English, local and botanical names of the plant, etc.
