apophysis is the slightly swollen region between the seta and capsule of moss sporophyte , this region is rich in chloroplast and thus photosynthetic region of moss , it also provides nutrition to the developing sporangium . 
It generally found in the moss , 
it helps in photosynthesis and nutrition of moss .
