What are the functions of rough and smooth endoplasmic reticulum?

Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum has ribosomes present on its surface. The ribsomes synthesises peptide and this peptide is folded, modified and sent to golgi apparatus by RER.
Smooth ENdoplasmic Reticulum has no ribosomes on its surface. It synthesis detoxifying enzymes and Cholestrol. Its number is high in liver cells
