Protroph are those microorganism which can be grown on minimal medium. They donot need any nutrient supplementation from the medium. You should know another term Auxotrophs- microorganism whose genes for encoding amino acids is mutated so they need that particular amino acid supplemeerm from nted in nutrient medium.

So statement is false. Prototroph is entirely different chemoautotroph.554-927_auxotroph.png
