Mesosomes are found mostly in Gram – negative bacteria, while in few gram positive bacteria.

The tubular-vesicular membrane structures called mesosomes, which are formed by an invagination of the plasma membrane. These structures are much more prominent in Gram-positive than in Gram-negative organisms.
