Hello Student

Theterminal part of thepedicelis called thalamus or torus or receptacle. It is a condensed axis of the flower from which all floral parts arise.

difference between receptacle and thalamus is that receptacle is a container while thalamus is (anatomy) either of two large, ovoid structures of grey matter within the forebrain that relay sensory impulses to the cerebral cortex.
