Hai Divya Pandey,
Plasma membrane is a bi lipid layer whhich is impermeable to all the suubstances,
and semi permeableto specific substances.
The protein prsent in between these lipid layers exist in various form as illustraed in image attached.
Exrinsic-extended out; Intrinsic-Extened In; Transmembrane-In between the two layers;
The fnction o these proteins are infinite such as

Intrinsic or integral membrane proteins include adhesion molecules, receptor proteins and diffusion or transport channel complexes. These may span the thickness of the membrane (transmembrane proteins) and can have both extracellular and cytoplasmic domains
