The rules for scientific nomenclature are as follows:
1 Scientific name of an organism consists of two words where first word indicates genus name and second indicates species or specific epithet.
2 Scientific name is always written in latin but if in any other language then it is translated to latin.
3 The first letter of genus name is capital while that of species name is small.eg: Mangifera indica (mango)
4 Scientific name when handwritten underlined separately while printed in italics.
5 The name of author is sometimes written the the end of scientific name but in short abbreviation.eg Mangifera indica Linn (linneaus)
6 Sometimes subspecies name is also written after species name which is also underlined separately.
eg Corvous splendins splendins (crow)
