1. planospores(motile) e.g. Zoospores(flagellated)
2. aplanospores(non motile) e.g. akinetes

Phaeophyceae aka Brown algae forms only planospores i.e. all are zoospores

Rhodophyceae aka red algae only forms aplanospores
