The fluid mosaic model explains various observations regarding the structure of functional cell membranes. The model, which was devised by SJ Singer and GL Nicolson in 1972, describes the cell membrane as a two-dimensional liquid in which that restrict the lateral diffusion of membrane components. 
1- here , the lipids are arrenged in the billayer section . 
2- one hydrophillic end are inside and hydrophobic nuclic ends are coming outside . 
limitation 
1- it doesnot explain the fluidity nature of model as water in the cell are constantly moving . 
2- this model assumes everything to be static , which is not practically feasible ..
