Sound is a form of energy that propagates in the form of mechanical waves. There are two types of sound- audible and inaudible. We can hear audible sound while we cannot hear inaudible sound. Sound beyond our range of hearing is inaudible to us. The range of hearing for humans is 20-20,000 Hz.
