In geitonogamy pollen grains of one flower of a plant moves to stigma of another flower of same plant while in Xenogamy pollens move from one flower of a plant to an another flower of an another plant
Advantages of self pollination include:
  1. Helps in maintaining purity of race
  2. Less chance of failure of pollination and less pollen wastage
Advatages of cross pollination
  1. New varities with useful characters are result of it
