Some proteins, because of the extensive hydrophobic regions of their polypeptide chains, they span the entire width of the membrane.These proteins are called transmembrane proteins.

@ samarth | there are 2 types of integral membrane protein . 1- transmembrane protein – these proteins completely embeded in lipid billayers . 2- partially embeded proteins – these are the proteins that are partially embeded in lipid billayer . HOPE IT CLEARS YOUR DOUBT ALL THE BEST ..
