To locate a plane a point and a vector normal to it is used. A point actually used to specify the location of plane in a space but it may be alligned in any direction, to get the allingment a vector normal to the plane is used.
If a normal vector is specifed specified there can be one and only one plane with that allignement( if a point on a plane is also fixed)
Therefore for xz plane the normal vector will be along y or – y axis
( which is actually not the direction of plane rather the direction of normal vector which actually give allignment of plane )
