hello ishita, so before we answer your question, let us recall some definitions. 
acceleration= dv/dt
average value of a function y=f(x) in the interval x1 to x2 is defined as:
∫x1 to x2 f(x)dx/(x2 – x1)
now, the average acceleration would be 
∫4 to 6 dv/dt*dt/(6 – 4)
=6-4/6-4
=1m/s^2
