what is the formula of locus of a point

there is no particular formula to find locus of a point.

he gives a condition for that locus and we will find in which path or way it moves and we find the equation of that path

for ex. let a and b be 2 points of a line segment and locus of a point P is to be determined such that the distance from a and b at any point to P is same . certainly we get a perpendicular bisector na. in different situation different shapes and different equations will come

like in some situations circle will come so we get the generalised equation of a circle...................
