Being a math student I always insist on using my own methods than to apply formulas blindly .. but it takes a lot of practice and interest for this.
You need to have a vision to look problems differently . Believe me I have seen people solving indefinite integral which wud take 2 pages to solve ,
solve in 4 lines .. and that is called creativity . So , if u have very much interest in maths never be satisfied with one solution .. always try to discover alternate
solutions and you may end up in something really beautiful.
