for x>3 x-3+2x+2=4, 3x=5 , no solution for x<-1 x-3+2x+2=-4, 3x=-3, for -1=<x<3 -x+3+2x+2=4, x=-1 hence x=-1 is the only solution sher mohammad b.tech, iit delhi
