x belongs to (-infinity, -5/2] U [3,infinity )
 
The above answer can be obtained by taking 4 cases x 3
 
Then by solving each case we get certain answers with has to be rechecked with the initial conditions  (or case)
Finally we have to check for the criticalbum values
