Fraction is defined when one number is divided by qnother.
Like ¼ is a fraction which means the 4th part of 1.
like 2/5 means 2nd part or fraction of5.

First you have to know about rational number.
A RATIONAL NUMBER IS A NUMBER WHICH CAN BE EXPRESSED IN (P/Q) FORM .
EXAMPLE:3/4,2/1,6/7.......
But fraction is also a p/q form but q not equal to 1.
EXAMPLE:3/4,2/3,2/7,etc.....
ALL FRACTIONS ARE RATIONAL NUMBERS BUT ALL RATIONAL NUMBERS NEED NOT BE FRACTIONS.
