There are many integer smaller than a particular number and the integer greatest in those set of smaller integer is called greatest integer and the function which do so is called GIF. N.B{,for integeralnumber we take gif equal to that integers} Ex. [2]=2, [2.3]=2, [-2.3]=-3{x}: this function lets us find the fractinal part of number.Every number is made up of (Integer+fractional part) so to find fractional part subtract number from its integral part i.e. {x}=x-[x] and subsequently we get answer. Ex.{2}=0, {2.3}=0.3, {-2.3}=0.7
