50 is even number, hence (-w)^50 is equal to (w)^50, very simple and one minus sign is already there outside

w is cube root of unity for which
w3m+1=w
w3m+2=w2
so
w50=w2
w3m+1=w
w3m+2=w2
so
w50=w2
