To find the total number of ways which can be selected can be made out of(p+q+r) things of which p are alike one kind q alike of another kind,r alike of third kind

(P+1)(q+1)(r+1) is the answer. There can be p ways of selecting objects from p and 1 way of selecting none of p. Similar logic applied to q and r objects.
